Vision Statement
Main Tape Company is committed to ensuring the sustainability of its business, and to leveraging its influence in the marketplace to conserve, protect and restore natural resources. As a cornerstone of that commitment, Main Tape will work to manage its wood, paper and plastics products procurement to mute future impacts on our world.
Manufacturing
Main Tape utilizes water-based glues instead of solvents for all their coated products. These glues are low in volatile organic compound (VOC) content. Our paper products include up to 70% post-consumer waste. The paper, cores, boxes and wrappers from paper rolls used during manufacturing are collected and recycled. This practice recycles and reprocesses thousands of pounds of paper, water and plastics, keeping them from landfills and preventing wastewater.
In shipping, metal banding straps have been phased out and replaced with plastic straps that can easily be reused and can be recycled. Our edge guard packing rails consist of over 70% recycled paper and are also recyclable. Bulk rolls are cradled for shipping instead of boxed, eliminating waste and providing cost savings.
Green Steps
We are committed to designing cost effective packaging that supports our eco-friendly practice philosophy. Main Tape Company partnered with Electrolux to eliminate all cardboard packaging used in the manufacturing and shipping of our products used in their manufacturing processes.
Knoll, an office furniture giant, continues working with Main Tape in developing application systems to eliminate foam packing for their office equipment.Certifications
